A lamp finial is a decorative accessory that screws on the harp of a lamp to keep the shade on straight. Most lamps come with a brass button that does this job. Our decorative lamp finials are made of hand poured ceramic which has been coated with a clear glaze and fired. The image is then fired into the glaze and will not rub, wash or scratch off.
There is an image on both sides of the ceramic barrel. The ceramic barrel is 2 in x 1 ½ in. Glued on top of the ceramic barrel is an 18k gold plated fluted circular cap with and 18k gold plated ball. The finial base is ¾ in tall and is either polished and lacquered brass or 18k gold plated brass.
The finial base attaches to the ceramic barrel by means of a screw. A hole is drilled in the bottom of the ceramic barrel. A screw is passed through this hole and screwed into the top of the finial base. The finial base has been configured to accommodate most standard lamp harps. The finial base is designed so that the ceramic piece will swivel to show the decoration to its best advantage after the finial base has been securely screwed onto the lamp harp.
The overall measurement of the lamp finial is 3 in x 1 ½ in. Weight is 1 ¼ oz. Each lamp finial will arrive enclosed in a clear plastic clamshell measuring 7 in x 3 7/8 in. The clamshell packaging will provide the dual advantages of more secure shipping to you and a ready made display piece. The clamshell has a pre-formed opening at the top that will allow it to hang on a pegboard hook. Weight of the finial and clamshell together is 1 ½ oz.
